Crock-Pot Peperoncini Roast

This recipe is by far one of my most favorite ways to make a roast and even better that you get to use a crock-pot to do all the work, and really there isn't much work because this is also a very easy recipe!

You will need the following:

2 lb. roast
1 packet of au jus seasoning
1 packet of ranch dressing seasoning
1/2 stick of butter

Put the roast in the crock-pot. Pour a little juice from the peperoncini's and put as many peperoncini's as you would like in the crock-pot, ensuring you have some on the roast to infuse that delicious flavor. Then pour each seasoning packet onto the roast. Make a small slit on the top of the roast and nest the 1/2 cube of butter in the slit (this will ensure that it won't slide off). Cover and set to low and cook for 8 hours.

I will normally serve with mashed potatoes and green beans. Once the roast is done there is juice remaining that I use to pour on the potatoes.

You will not be sorry you tried this, it is devoured every time!

Party Board: Navy Girl * Nautical Inspired

I enjoyed putting together the nautical party for a little boy so much that I thought I would do one for a little girl as well. The dark navy against the feminine soft pink I just love! My inspiration for this board all started with the ruffle wreath, I love it and so wish I had a place in my home to hang it. As with the other nautical board, this one would be great for baby showers, birthdays or even bridal showers. How cute would it be to host a bridal shower with a nautical theme for a soon to be Navy wife. You don't have to limit yourself to this color scheme either, if pink isn't your favorite pick another color that would compliment the blue. I think navy with coral is absolutely gorgeous and would be a great way to transition the theme into something a little more mature or elegant.

Party Board: Ahoy, Birthday Boy!

Today I am sharing my latest party board, based on the ever popular nautical theme! I really didn't care much for the nautical theme when it first started to become popular, but it is really growing on me now. I am loving the deep dark navy blue and how patriotic a nautical themed party can feel. After putting this inspiration board together it makes me want to throw a nautical party or something patriotic. Since the 4th of July is right around the corner some of these ideas would be great to celebrate Independence Day. You could also use this theme to host a baby shower, the possibilities are endless. Hope you enjoy!

Tractor Party Feature!!!

So happy that Spaceship & Laser Beams featured the Farmall Tractor Party I did for my son's first birthday. I loved the party and am so happy to share it with others, I hope that someone looking for fun ideas for a tractor party may get some inspiration from mine.

If you haven't read the post check it out here or go check out Spaceship & Laser Beams for the party feature article!!!

Have a great Thursday!

Vintage Auto Inspired Room for my Boy

I had featured a rag strip bunting I had created for the tractor birthday party you can see here. I always like to try and find a way to re-use my party supplies or decorations, it makes it more justifiable when I purchase them!

For this particular item I found a perfect place in my son's bedroom. I hung it from the curtain rod so it hang nicely between the two curtain panels.

His room is definitely a work in progress still, even though he is a year old! The theme is Vintage Auto, there are old Jeeps, trucks, tractors and pedal cars throughout.  The colors are mostly red and blue with a touch of rustic copper metal to pull it all together. For directions on how I made the bunting see the post here.

There are a lot of items in his room that my husband and i have collected over the years and some that I picked up while I was pregnant. The old rusty jeep my husband found at a metal recycling yard, the truck photo was something I purchased years back at Ikea. The initial block letters are from a darling local children's store, Sugar Babies. The metal stars I found on clearance at a local craft store, Artco.

This cork board is hung above his crib. For the letter 'A' I added diamond plate printed paper to it and a metal Jeep cutout that I had spray painted red. I then attached to the cork board. My goal at some point with this board is to add pictures of him throughout the years with his daddy doing things they love together; fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, playing in the dirt, etc... and maybe a few of him and his sister, while they still act like they love each other!

I found this star coat hanger at Hobby Lobby, perfect since they match the stars hanging on his wall. Of course he already has a Carhartt & tractor hat, waiting for him to grow into.

My mom found these adorable vintage pedal car pictures on clearance at a furniture store. Even better the picture on the right is just like a pedal car my husband and his father had when they were young.

His room is slowly coming along, once he is in a big boy bed is when I will finally finish it off, hopefully!

Happy Thursday, only one more day to go!

Twinkle Twinkle 1st Birthday Party

My sweet little god-daughter turned 1 this past week and her momma and I put together this adorable "Twinkle Twinkle" party theme. There was lots of pink, glittery gold, girly flowers and of course lots of stars!
Check out the party inspiration board for this theme here.

Delicious cupcakes and cookies were made by the birthday girls momma. To go with the theme I made the star cake bunting and cupcake toppers.

These cookies were so yummy, and even had gold star sprinkles! I am pretty sure I ate way to many of these, I just couldn't help it!

The star banner that hung above the cake table I made using my Cricut, I cut out the star shapes in varying sizes and then assembled on gold ribbon. This really turned out to be a great focal point for the party.

The mason jar vases were made by my girlfriend, she spray painted the jars gold, added some glue or mod podge to the bottom of the jar and rolled that portion in gold glitter. These turned out so cute and what a great centerpiece.

On the menu was BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ meatballs, fruit & vege platters, pasta salad and of course what party is complete without a little chips & dip.

To carry on with the theme I made a cake bunting for the birthday girl's smash cake, which she thoroughly enjoyed and completely demolished!

There were favor bags filled with goodies for the kids to take home. By attaching paper stars to pink stripe straws and adding some colorful ribbon I was able to make the cutest wands for the little girls to add to their favor bags.

I would say the birthday party was a success. Everyone had lots of fun, including the birthday girl! Happy 1st birthday Miss Isabelle!

Sunshine Baby Shower for Two

This adorable baby shower theme was inspired from The Tomkat Studio photo shoot done for Pottery Barn. Check out the party here for all the amazing details.

This party is a great gender neutral shower theme, which worked out well for this particular event since the baby shower would be celebrating two soon-to-be momma's. With one momma expecting a little girl and the other expecting a baby boy; due only one day apart and even crazier, they are sisters. I happen to be the momma who was expecting the baby boy.

Representing both sides, adorable newborn outfits for the new little girl & baby boy to who will be joining the family.

My sister-in-law made these delicious cupcakes, Orange Creamsicle & Chocolate Covered Strawberry. They tasted so yummy and she did such a fabulous job at decorating them.

Printables are by Tomkat Studio, free download available here.

For lunch there was chicken salad cups, chinese chicken salad, vege & fruit trays, chips and dip and of course my favorite cookies & scones.

The adorable diaper cakes were made by Lil Baby Cakes.

Everyone went home with handmade soap in a shape representing the theme and onesie shaped sugar cookies. The shower was lovely and so much fun sharing the experience with my sister!

Update to this party: Both babies are now a year old, how time flies! Due only a day apart the babies ended up having birthday's a week and a half apart. Yes I was the lucky one to go past my due date! Everything worked out though and both babies are amazing, adorable and so full of life!

Thanks for stopping by!

Party Board: Breakfast at Tiffany's

My mom is retiring in 2 years and if you know either of us at all, you know we love to plan a party. So we are already thinking up ideas. She came to me with one idea for a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme to celebrate her retirement / birthday party. I know it is early, I couldn't resist putting together an inspiration board. If anything this will help to decide and settle on the perfect theme for this momentous occasion!

I am so incredibly proud of my mom for all she has accomplished in her career. She started working for the federal government at the age of 17 and is still working there today. That is true dedication, and in two years she will finally get to say good-bye to that chapter and move into retirement. Let the countdown begin!
